my little corner of the world

Last year I gave a down payment on an apartment that was only on the blue print. Now it's finally ready and I went there for an inspection and put my feet on my little piece of the world for the first time :)

I don't intend to live there since it's pretty far from work (althought the view is great!), but it was nice . Felt like growing up :))

warm coffee on a cold rainy day

These last few days were really cold in Rio. Well, really cold for cariocas like me, meaning 16 Celsius (or 60F - don't laugh!). Anyways, it's always good to have a nice cup of warm coffee in days like these.

I ended up having a great surprise at a juice house, in Copacabana. It's called Big Polis, and it's a filial of the famous Leblon one. I used to eat there a lot many years ago. For a very small price R$7.00 or U$3.50 you can pick 5 items for your breakfast, including everything from drinks to food that you can find on a Brazilian breakfast, and the portions are big! For a little more you can add more items too. It's enough for at least 2 people. They also serve it up to very late (I got there at 12:30pm). They are open everyday from 7am to 1am, and the juices and sandwiches are all very famous. The only downside for me is the fact that it is right in the middle of Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana, the noisiest and crowdest street of Copacabana. I bet it's more pleasant on Sundays, for a nice morning meal. The plus is the decoration. I LOVE the tiles!

Multishow Music Awards

PRESS PLAY
All my loving - Rita Lee

Carol showed up last Tuesday with 2 last minute invitations for this music awards party. Nice! I saw some people I haven't spoken with in ages, from different times of my life. We danced so much Carol's skirt didn't resist. Great surprise for random week night :)

I chose this song for the post for 2 reasons; the singer, Rita Lee, received a very much deserved homage that night and the lyrics are for my dear boyfriend who couldn't come along.

I was born in a rainy day

...and it has been like that ever since.

It's ok, I like rainny days :) They make me think. Sunny days make me want to go out and do something. I guess birthdays are days I'm supposed to think about what I'm doing, like a New Year's balance, but for me only.

I had breakfast at Confeitaria Colombo, a very traditional tea house in Rio. The original one is downtown, but I chose the one on Forte de Copacabana. Next to my feet is Sugarloaf again, from the opposite side of Niterói.

Astonishing view, even in a cloudy day... I LOVE it!

Debret @ Cais do Porto

Although we missed the show, Fashion Rio was a great place to hang out. We saw the sunset drinking pink champagne in comfy desk chairs, eating a very yummy spicy caramel nuts mix. And on the way out, look what I found... Jean-Baptiste Debret right outside, decorating the already amazing view. :))

Pierre Verger @ Fashion Rio

So, I got a ticket for Maria Bonita's fashion show from my dear mother in law (yes, she is a darling!) but my boyfriend and I got there too late... it begun on time! Bad Lilli... anyways, it was great to see Pierre Verger's exhibit :)

it's not Louis Vuitton

A sidewalk, somewhere in Europe, maybe Barcelona that reminded me of Louis Vuitton pattern right away. No, I don't have a purse. It's just very good branding.
